A day on the water: Positano to Capri by gozzo

The best way to understand this coast is from the sea. Our skipper, Gennaro, keeps a nine-metre wooden gozzo in the bay below the house and takes our guests out for the day.

How the day runs

  • 9:30 — pick-up from the jetty at Positano's Spiaggia Grande, ten minutes' walk from the gate.
  • Morning — along the coast past Li Galli, swimming stops in coves you can only reach by water.
  • Midday — across to Capri, round the Faraglioni and through the arch.
  • Lunch — at anchor, or ashore at a fish restaurant on the island if you prefer.
  • 17:30 — back to Positano, in time for an aperitivo on the pergola.

Good to know

The boat takes up to eight. Snorkels, towels, water and a cool box of Campanian white are on board. Tell us when you book and we will hold the date; the sea decides the route on the day.
